Residents of the community determined that the Hereford area was growing and a Fire Company was needed.A group of men held their first meeting on July 24th, 1924 in the Hereford Public School on York Road just south of Hereford.

Hereford Volunteer Fire Company went through the largest building campaign in its 80 year history. The fire station was completely rebuilt and a new hall was constructed. There are now six engine bays, new Suppression & Administrative offices, a new day room, and two new bunk rooms.
Banquet Facility and Conference Center was built on the North side of the fire tation. Many community events and private functions are held in the new facility.
